Resource Recovery Support Officer

Our client is looking for a casual Resource Recovery Support Officer, reporting directly to the site Manager. Successful applicant must be available to work 20 hours per week.

This position is responsible for the daily front-line customer engagement and administration of Council and contractor delivered waste services. The services include collection of domestic and commercial garbage, bulk waste collection, garbage bin supply and repair, green waste collection and bin supply, recycling collections and bin supply, and Council’s waste facility operations.

This role includes supporting the operations of the weighbridge and the Reuse Shop, as part of a roster.


Duties

  • Undertake administrative duties including the management of account holder information and general record keeping; responding to customer requests; data entry; manage and monitor the Integrated Waste Tracking System; purchasing requisitions; preparation of report information for EPA, management and other stakeholders; preparation of reports through the use of the weighbridge software; and provide data and reports to management as required.
  • Undertake customer service duties associated with the weighbridge and Reuse Shop, when and as required as part of a roster.
  • Utilise and maintain items of plant, equipment, tools (hand and power) and personal protective equipment and clothing (PPE/C) in accordance with Council standards
  • Manage and resolve day-to-day service issues, customer feedback, complaints and compliments pertaining to the delivery of waste services, including phone calls and email correspondence, recording correspondence and documentation relevant to these matters in Council’s corporate systems.
  • Assist with organisation of freight pickups for cardboard, oil, polystyrene, and monitor daily staff and traffic movements.
  • Perform other duties in support of the team as directed, relevant to skills, competence and training.



About you

  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
  • General Construction Induction Training Card (White card)
  • Proven experience in service delivery administration with demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise workload, and to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and other relevant software packages.
  • Solid communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
